Little Nachman Part 19

Little Shimon would always see Nachman standing alone in the garden behind Nachman’s house. He didn’t understand what Nachman was doing there. One day, he asked, "Nachman, my good friend, what do you do alone in the garden every day?”

 

"I speak to Hashem," replied Nachman. "I ask Him for help in everything I do and I thank Him for all His wonderful favors that He does for me and for my family."

 

"Can you teach me how to speak to Hashem like you do?" asked Shimon.

 

"It’s simple," said Nachman. "Hashem always listens. He loves you and He loves your prayers, no matter how you say them. Even more, He’s waiting to hear your voice because He wants to answer your prayers."

 

"Really? Hashem really listens to me? Does that mean that I can ask Hashem for whatever I want?"

 

Nachman smiled and nodded. "It sure does. Hashem created the world and rules the world. Hashem can do anything for you! He can help you in any way you need or give you anything you want. Come here," said Nachman. "Stand here on the grass, Shimon, and I’ll be a few steps behind you. You talk to Hashem from where you are, and I’ll talk to Hashem from where I am."
